How much does tutoring cost?
Private tutoring currently begins at $45 per hour.
Where does tutoring take place?
Sessions are generally held at mutually agreed-upon libraries or appropriate public study locations in Irvine, Newport Beach, Laguna Hills, Tustin, Costa Mesa, and surrounding Orange County communities. We primarily recommend in-person tutoring.
What if my student and tutor aren’t a good match?
Contact us. We want the tutoring relationship to work and can explore matching the student with another available tutor.
Do you offer online tutoring?
Pacific Scholars primarily emphasizes in-person tutoring to encourage direct interaction, engagement, and effective communication. Online sessions may be arranged on a case-by-case basis when appropriate for the student’s circumstances, subject, and learning needs.
Does my student receive homework?
This depends on the student’s needs and goals. Tutors may recommend additional practice between sessions when it would benefit the student.
What subjects do you tutor?
We offer mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology from foundational courses through AP and introductory college-level coursework, including select competition mathematics. Subject availability depends on the qualifications of the individual tutor.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions cancelled with less notice may be charged at the full session rate, subject to exceptional circumstances. Rescheduling depends on tutor availability. See our Policies page for the full service policies.
